AIMING FOR NET ZERO EMISSIONS BY THE END OF 2023
We source 100% of our fabrics from OEKO-TEX® certified businesses. This guarantees that the entire process of making an item follows strict guidelines that are safe for people and the environment. All air and water emissions are clean, and each component is tested for certification compliance.
The majority of our fabrics are made from eco-friendly yarns certified by the following institutions: TENCEL™, GRS, GOTS, Supima® or FSC®. Our goal is to make 100% of our apparel from certified eco-friendly fabrics. While we move towards this goal, we ensure that every item is built for outstanding longevity to put an end to over-production.
We already use FSC® certified recycled paper and recycled
plastic for our packaging, plus it’s easily processed in recycling centres. However, we aim to only use compostable materials by 2024 – down to our garment tags and strings. We will continue to work towards this goal until there are zero microplastics generated from Maxibillion packaging.
Environmentally safe, healthy, friendly and culturally diverse – these are our aims for Maxibillion and its collaborators. And this goes for our entire business, from our manufacturing sites and textile mills to our offices and retail destinations. We will not work with suppliers who do not share our values, adhere to our Code of Conduct or demonstrate continuous improvement in the way they hire and treat staff. Our
expectations and auditing processes can be seen in our Vendor Code of Conduct, which follows the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) standards.
Some examples of our partners’ compulsory and voluntary certifications include:
OEKO-TEX®, GRS (Global Recycled Standard), GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), Higg FEM, BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), Sedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) and FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council).
NET ZERO EMISSIONS
Our aim is to ensure that every person in the Maxibillion ecosystem benefits from an environmentally-safe, healthy, friendly and culturally diverse workplace. And, this goes for our entire business, from our manufacturing sites and textile mills to our offices and retail destinations. Our initial commitment is to achieve carbon neutrality by the end of 2023. This means having zero GHG emissions or offsetting those emitted into the atmosphere.
